I'm curious how many here think they might be on an indian if the original company had hung in there and was still making bikes in springfield that were competitve or maybe even better than current hd's. I've always been partial to that swooping front fender. However i rode a road king and did not like the windshield at all. I really like the batwing. Can't help but think Indian would still have the road king type windshield. Guess you could always get that kawa-Indian.

"You better get a nice Fat Boy and spend the rest of the budget making it your own"
Jesse James said when they asked him what was his opinion on the new Indians.

RE: Indian
Wasn't it Jesse James that said Harley riders were idiots? I remember seeing a clip about that...
I have one of the 03 Indians, bought about 8 months before they went under again. It's a Scout, so essentially a softtail, and came with a lot more billet and chrome goodies for less money than a Harley. It vibrates like your mother-in-law's bedroom toys and will kill your buns after about 50 miles, but it is a blast to ride... Those revived Indians were even more of a niche market than a Harley.
I've heard the PowerPlus engine has bottom end problems and there's no one in Indianapolis that will work on them, so I guess I'm glad I have the S&S motor...
And I didn't like any of the choices for the poll, so I didn't pick one...

RE: Indian
I purchased a 2003 Indian Chief with the power plus engine in April of 2003 and the company went under in September. I have always wanted an Indian ever since I saw one when I was a kid, something about the big finders, white wall tires. It is a blast to ride and always gets attention when I'm riding or stoped. I usually ride the Indian on short rides etc. but for the long hauls I love taking my Harley.

RE: Indian
Last time around,Indian couldve had a chance if it didnt have a S$S motor.Just put it in the kit bike catagory. The powerplus wasnt thaat great either but better at distinquishing itself.Dont hold your breath on a return. Some new crook will run off w/the cash again.Harley shouldve bought them up and went ahead w/the 4cylinder.
