Nope.. I'd spend the money on my own upgrades.

And do!

If I had the money, I wouldn't mind getting the Ultra or any CVO touring model. That little serial # that starts out 1HD on the frame keeps the depreciation to a minimum as compared to most other $36,000 bikes.

They are worth every cent.
Just add up all of what you get, and you're saving a ton of money over piecing it out. Also, when it comes to trade in time, the CVO will reflect the accessories where a do it yourself bike won't..
The only problem is that after you spent the long dollar on a custom, the chances of another duplicate setting next to yours at any restaurant in America is pretty good, and that turned me off..

I built my own 06' custom. Paid the long buck, MORE than a CVO, but nobody will have one at the local Bob Evans.
I do plan on taking a royal screwing when it's time to sell.

Very nice bike Geroge. How much was the upgrades? All HD parts or some after market parts? 25G for a CVO Dyna, I don't know if I would, 20G may be. Much easer to justify the cost of a 16G bike then add stuff then 25G bike with everything added.

ORIGINAL: Domestic Violence

personally- i think thats WAY too much money for a motorcycle.

id much rather have my RKC and maybe an R1 or a 'Busa for the same money for a CVO
Hell I think the almost 22K I paid out the door for my RK was way too much to pay for a bike.

ABSOLUTELY. 05 S.E. Fatboy. You could easily spend as much on a custom, which I considered. But this is truly my dream bike. Funny thing, I talked Deanna into the purchase by convincing her that the c.v.o. had everything already. Ha!

I hear a lot of folks saying, "if money were no object". I'm a maintenence man, wifeys a teacher. Not wealthy by any means. I just prioritise for my ride. I figure if the kids can go to college and we have a roof over our heads, I should reward myself for all I do. Just my oppinion.

Would I?

H3ll yea!.....Actually, my saleslady is dropping mine off at the house tomorrow.

If you were to price everything on the bike it would cost you well over $29+

I've got almost 30K in it as it sits, taxes included. All MoCo build, including the engine except for a few choice aftermarket pieces and the machining costs to diamond cut the engine and other parts..
The only thing left that I want to do is a set of RC Components Predator wheels. Probably next spring.

I know I know, it's a lot of money for a 16K bike. And I know I'm going to flush most of it right down the sewer pipe when I sell it, but I wanted to build my dream Harley that was different from the run of the mill.
It sure helps to have an understanding wife also!
