I was justa checking out the new Barnett Kevlar clutch plates I picked up today and noticed that it says "DO NOT use HD Formula + , etc but only use ATF and also to not pre soak the plates. I just last yr helped a bud change out his with a new Barnett and I don't recall it saying same tho I must admit not sure if his is a carbon or kevlar or ?.

I was just kinda curious as to why they don't want cha using Formula+ etc, any thought.........

and whats a good ATF to use?

 

I would use Mobil1 ATF. Very robust and easy to find at any autozone or AAP.

 

B&M Trick Shift is good also.

 

Have the Barnett Scorpion in two bikes both with Kevlar frictions and using HD primary fluid,no problems in 6 yrs.The ATF to use is the Ford designated type.Whenever have a concern go the the horses mouth,and call Barnett,they are the pro's.
