All this stuff is from Harbor Freight for about $45.00. Use it only for multi-day trips, hope I never need it. All this takes up less than a 1/3 of a saddle bag.
54 piece tool kit with zip up nylon bag.
3 hex/torx tools pocket knife style.
LED flash light.
electrical tape
wire splices
tire plug kit.
DC air pump.
zip ties.

I was told when I bought my bike that the older bikes needed a tool kit and HD did not furnish it. Now that the newer bikes are not having that many problems HD furnishes a tool kit. I just have the kit that came with the bike............

Cell phone, AAA card, cash, Visa along with the tool roll HD put in the bike and extra things like torx sockets, Gerber tool, LED light, duct and electrical tape, tie wraps, VOM meter and a third clip for my 10mm. Oh yeah and extra fuses

The WindZone set is a good start, buy complete or put your own together. The big thing with most of my buddies, is most do not work on their own bike. I know there is a mixture of guys in the Forum, so it's not a slam, just a reality check. So unless you can actually use tools, then pack them, if you don't know how to fix small things then why pack tools. For example, if you don't know how to use a Volt Meter, why pack one?
Personally I have 2 rolls, one small set is my around town set, the other is the out of town set for longer trips. I have a detachable TourPack, so I have more room in "Out of Town mode." The small roll, covers basic tightening and adjustmentsm the larger tool set includes tools more drastic problems.
I still like the tip I heard years ago, if you do basic maintenance, or add new stuff (mirror's, foot pegs, other Chrome) try to use your tool kit from the bike, that way you know you have the tools for adjustment.
If you want to go real light Harley makes a All-in-One folding Tool (94435-10), that covers basic tightening. One came with my Street Glide, not sure if it came from HD or the Dealer tossed it in the Saddlebag.
I also carry a small air compressor made by Slime.

Tools?
You're not gonna work on your bike along the road anyway. Just carry something to snug up mirrors, pegs, controls, etc. Nothing too big. You have a cell phone and a H.O.G. card don't you? That's all you really need. Just my $0.02 Jr.
