Default Wisconsin Helmet Law

My Dad told me he was talking to my Uncle from Illinois a few days ago and they were talking on the radio that Wisconsin passed a Helmet law. My Dad or I haven't heard a thing about it. My sister works at a Harley bar and no one there has mentioned it. Supposedly it was hidden in with something else to hide the issue so it got passed because no one knew of it.
Anyone heard of this supposed new law?

That's the way most insane rules get passed. They hide their cause deep inside another bill which has nothing to do with the cause or issues that are being promoted in the original bill. This is getting to be one really screwed up society.
The same thing is probably fixing to happen in a lot more states.

Us riders from Wisconsin know all about the goal of "Zero Deaths" on Wisconsin roads. Although I have not heard about any changes to helmet laws in the state, I can imagine some lawmakers deciding to make helmets mandatory as an effort to reach that goal. Every spring there seems to be some effort to make it a law by supporters of mandatory helments, but up to now at least the issue has not gained much support. But I can imagine the heavy hand of the wiconsin DOT getting involved and forcing the issue in Madison.

Nothing new. Under 18 or on a learner permit you must have helmet. Been that way since I was violating in 83.

I'm sure Obama is proud of you! Go nanny state! If you don't think like wideglidebob, we'll make a law so we can make decisions for you!

if you are willing to carry $1 million worth of hospitalization and long term care insurance...then you should have the right to ride without a helmet. take responsibility for your actions. do not expect the rest of the taxpayers to cover your medical expenses because you choose to act stupid.
