Don't leave it in the tank, even though you should have no problems. If you don't want to pull the tank, have your dealer do it. These bikes deserve to be maintained and repaired properly.

Try some mechanical fingers bro!!! And if your like me and have a borescope handy makes it 1000% easier

honestly it's pretty damn easy, don't over think it, it's a couple screws. to drain the tank not sure if your bike is carb'd but if it is pull the fuel line off the back of the carb and put a brake bleeder on the petcock vacuum line for the fuel to drain, then just pop the tank off and shake the screw out.
