I've taken the class and thought it was great, but I going to say "no" as to making it required. However, I do want to add that driving classes need to have motorcycle awarness in them.
Sometimes only riding experience can train rider to be a more aware driver. There have been times when I was in my car and did not notice a motorcyle until just "before" I may have cut the rider off. One time I was waiting to make a left turn at a light in rush hour traffic. In the on coming lane was a motorcycle whose color and head lamp blended in with the car behind it- same color and and I saw only two head lights. From where a was stopped, for a momemt the bike simply blended in with the car behind it. I saw an opening to turn and just before making it, my veiw of the bike changed and there it was - in the spot I thought was open to make my turn. I just about sh!t that I didn't see it. |
