oil oooz
Went for a nice ride yesterday.
pulled up to a costco for gas, turned of the bike waiting in line.
Moved bike up a bit in neutral, waited my turn.
Then I looked down and oil was slowing running down the side of my oil tank.
It seemed obvious it came from the filler cap. Not a lot of oil but enough the it made a thin stream.
It is SE synthetic.
I am wondering about changing back to dino oil and a new filter.

Yeah, the cap probably isn't sealing. I had that happen while on trip in the Rockies. I didn't have another so I just wrapped some electrical tape around it and jammed it back in, washed all the crap off the right side of the bike and enjoyed the rest of the trip. I still had the old cap at home.

Sounds like the oil tank may have been over filled and now an improperly fitting oil cap is allowing the excess to escape. If the engine "sumped" and then oil was added because the oil level was low, the oil that was in the sump is now out and in the oil system. remove some oil, about a quarter of a qt.

Remove some oil. I have an old turkey baster that I use to lower the oil level. Clean the gasket of your oil cap by wiping it real good with an oil dampened rag and be sure to seat it evenly and firmly when you put it back in.

We shall see.
