What brand heat shrink tubing?
I'd like to try and find heat shrink tubing as close to OEM as possible.
I went to Home Depot and the local auto parts store, but the tubing they caried was in 8" or shorter, and dull black in color.
The heat shrink tubing is for the auxilliary lights wiring- what size will I need?
Do the wires need to be covered under the tank? I assume that putting heat shrink on them will be helpful for protecting the wires from damage caused by rubbing, so they should be covered the full length of the tank- unless there is an existing tube to run them through.
Thanks.

I just use whatever brand of heatshrink that is the dia I need.
I'd recommend a wiring loom over the wires instead of full length heatshrink if that's what you're thinking of?

My local ACE hardware has all the shrink tubing you could ever need. Just go to a hardware store near you and hit up the electrical section. Find the size that fits and go with it. Shrink tubing is near universal.

Heat shrink tubing is generally a good idea.
Harley does NOT have the market cornered on any special quality of shrink tubing that I am aware of. The stuff is pretty generic as far as I know. You should be commended though. Most folks would use electrical tape and that is clearly inferior to shrink tubing.
When you use the shrink tubing I would suggest that you use a hair drier or better still a Heat Gun to shrink the stuff. Much cleaner and better looking than using a match or a butane lighter . . . not less effective, it just leaves a better and more professional looking job.

I use adhesive lined heat shrink for all splices or connections.
If you are looking to cover the entire length of the wires I'd recommend wire loom, PVC tubing or hose (not heat shrink). You can use heat shrink at the ends to hold it in place and keep a clean appearance. You can also use braided covers like the car guys use on hoses.
