Default Myrtle Bch via BlueRidge Pkwy from Asheville

Planning a ride from Nashville to Myrtle Beach for next month.

Has anyone traveled the Blue Ridge from Asheville southbound en route, albeit indirectly, to MB? Any suggested routes would be appreciated---

From Asheville the parkway only goes south for a short distance. It then turns north and heads toward VA. From Nashville you could head to Cherokee NC and gor on the parkway there. Maybe go 100 miles on the parkway.

Yeah, it's kind of a backwards way to go, you almost need to start at the bottom of the parkway, you can hit the "dragon" on the way to Cherokee, then maybe up to Asheville, then southeast again. There's lots of little blue roads in western NC and SC, but once you go east of Greenville SC it gets pretty flat. If you want a nice view go by Cesar's head, you wouldn't think SC had any mtns, but they are there.

Just look for two-laners across SC, lots of little towns, a lot of farming country, old barns, shacks, very pleasant and chilled out kind of ride.

You might want to try the Lake Lure ride. That places you pretty close to I 26 in SC.

No easy way to MB from the Parkway. Hard to bypass the horrors of Charlotte.

Something to consider, stop off in Maggie Valley and check out the Wheels Through Time museum.

Or you can the BRP from either Cherookee or Asheville to Mt Pisgah then take 276 east to and take 64 east...or wiggle your way through Pigeon forge to fontana and take 28 south...
