"The Nod" More nods than waves.

Yeah, that was cool when it was rare to see another bike on the road, and if you did, you probably knew the dude.

Went out for a short ride yesterday evening. Two people waved, I nodded in return, two people minded their own business, so did I, six people nodded, I nodded back, one person smiled, I smiled back.
As I ride down the road I look over at other bikes, most look back and acknowledge in some fashion. I'm not a wave person, I'm nodding from now on, so if you see me out there please just nod, I think it sucks less than the wave.
This is my first nod thread, soon to out number the wave threads when it catches on.

I'm just going to stick out my left foot. Its the least used appendage. With a nod you will take your eyes off the road = dangerous. Since the left foot is only used for shifting I figure it is the perfect part to wave with.
I challenge you to a duel. Foot threads will outnumber your nod threads.

I have refined it to "the grimace." You look at the other biker, let him/her know that you see them and then give them "the grimace."
Way cooler...

A little help here please. The nod. Technique. Are you supposed to nod 'up' (tilt head back) or nod 'down'. I've seen it done both ways and am waiting for this to turn into a 'nod 101 technique' thread before I begin.
