I am loving riding my new to me 04 heritage. I have been riding since mid March in temps as low as 25 degrees here! Now that it is warmer and much more pleasant, I am starting to log the miles. So many that my left arm/elbow is getting sore from working the clutch! Doc says to rest it....HA...a few ibuprofen and away we go. Someday it will hopefully get built up to where it is not sore any more. Pretty sure it is the tendons or whatever....

Have to drive the cage tomorrow to pick up people from the airport, so I will call that the resting it!

When did they start installing the "easy-clutch" from the factory? You may be able to upgrade and get a much easier pull on your clutch. I'm not sure of the years on the clutch change at the factory. Someone will chime in.

Adjust the handlebars slightly up or down. Probably down. You'd be surprised how much that can help.

I might try the handlebars down a bit. I am also thinking of 4" pull back risers to see if that helps at all.

In the meantime, my service manual has not come in yet....anyone have torque numbers for moving the bars?

I've been dealing with tendonitis in my elbows for a while now. I don't think the clutch has anything to do with it, just the general motorcycle thing combined with all the other crap I do. A magnetic bracelet has been the best treatment I've found.

I think the reduced effort clutch started in 07.

Superior Court Judge Struble saw me wearing one of those 'tennis elbow' straps and told me how to get rid of it.

1. Get some styrofoam coffee cups, fill them with water and freeze them.

2. Rub the ice in the cup on the sore spot, peeling back the styrofoam cup as the ice melts.

3. Rub till it hurts, then rub some more till it hurts like hell.

Repeat this over several nights and the 'tennis elbow' will be cured.

Judge Struble learned this from his son-in-law....... John Smoltz.

John Smoltz wasn't a Doctor ... he was a major league baseball pitcher.
