Default How many here travel with laptops?

Will the vibration screw up a laptop? Im sure there are some related posts but i couldnt find them. I am planning a roadtrip and really need to take it. Thanks

My laptop has about 12,000 miles on it, in the Tour-Pak, with no adverse affects. A few hundred of those miles are with it running TTS software.

Took mine on a 3500 mile trip in the tour pak. Still works fine.

carreid mine around quite a bit padded case always made sure it was off when riding and no problems. some guys that have them all the time and have left them on when riding have has some issues

Not if you have a MacBook lol, just kiddn' I have no problem carry my notebook on my bike, no issue.

you may just be kidding, but there is some validity to using the macbook air. it has no moving parts, so should be a lot more vibration resistant. what usually gets killed is the hard drive.

I work a 24 hour shift, and I throw my laptop in my overnight bag on the back seat every time I head to work. No problems ever.

won't hurt it. almost every public safety vehicle nowadays has a computer in it. they take all kinds of abuse and seem to work fine.
