Common sense, as they say, isn't so common thee days.
Either an extra large Sportster, or the small size Ultra.

It's not what size it's what you can afford.
There's a taller seat that helps stretch out your legs. Some sportsters and dynas have mid controls some forward controls and if I remember it's the same for softails. And if the bike you want has controls one way they can be changed to the other way.
If you want mids you can add highway pegs.
Some people worry how their size will look on a bike. What's important is how well do you fit.
Before todays 30+ bike line up back in the day there was only one big twin. Tall short fat skinny average all made it work.

I'm 6'2" with a little less gravitational effect. I've got a Wide Glide and I really love it. The forward controls are great for taller riders and I've added a set of highway pegs to really stretch out if I need to. I'm very comfortable on it, but as always YMMV...

Yeah, i shop the big and tall section.....I'd go to the dealer that has "fit shop" at it and they can help you find the right bike and the controls in the right position.
Use this link http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...bmLocale=en_US to get to the page then pick "find a fit shop dealer" towards the bottom, and pick the state (Iowa) when another window pops. its full of them. Check it out, might be one not too far away from you.
