Default Beware PFM Brakes

Some of you will remember the twin levers I had on my ride when it was first built. The gentleman I deal with at PFM seemed like a really sweet guy. He got the levers right out to me & even exchanged them when the first set wouldn't bleed on the low side.

Anyway, I was having trouble with my clutch not disengaging so I switched over to a centrifugal clutch. That's when the problem started. I called my guy at PFM & he said he'd give me a full refund upon receipt of the levers. That was nearly two months ago & I haven't seen a dime of my money. Those levers were nearly $1,500.00! Now I'm running out of cash & my bike still needs a few things to be back up.

So, if any of you folks care to help me out, the e-mail is info@pfmbrakes.com & I'd appreciate if you'd write & tell 'em what a crappy thing they did to me!

Thanks in advance!

Have you called them?

Maybe look at moving this to one of the bike specific forums....

We need a name or something to reference your transaction. Can't just write "make it right for our friend" Give us something to work with. Do they know you as GypsyLady?

I've called & spoken to the gentleman several times. The excuse I always get is there's a (three week) race week going on in the Isle Of Mann & they'll square it up when they're back in the shop. I never thought it would come to this, as I was treated well by them until now.

CHG, they know me as both Gypsy & Susan.

Stiggy, the levers are twin master cylinders & the first set wouldn't bleed on the low side. I only have one arm & needed the twin levers to run both brake & clutch with my right hand (bike wreck). You can get the entire back story if you search the forums for "finally, pics of my build" or anything referencing "Chump Change".

After I got the second set of levers & bled them properly, I was still having trouble...The clutch wasn't disengaging. That's when I e-mailed EFM & looked into the autoclutch & decided to do it that way. At this point, The autoclutch is installed, but I also changed the bars to 1" so I could get HD controls & am now waiting to get my wiring & cables done...Unfortunately, my pitiful settlement's nearly gone & I NEED the cash back from PFM.

Hey Gypsy, just fired off a polite e-mail to them. Least I can do for someone with a heart like yours. Hope this helps and I'll keep an eye on this in case another e-mail from me might be needed. Later...Dave
