Garmin Zumo 550 sucks

I'm just amazed at what a piece of garbage these units are. I've read tons of stories on zumoforums about failing units. And on top of Garmin knowing the units are **** they don't even pay for shipping under warranty to send them back. Hopefully new competition will give Garmin a kick in the *** and get them back to where they used to be. Even before this thing died a second time it would just lock up periodically and I'd have to reset it.
If Garmin used this quality in their aviation units everyone would crash into the ground on GPS approaches. Oh wait....then they'd be sued.

Have not found a good iPhone mount for the bike yet; any holder that is waterproof and uses a soft plastic film cooks the phone in the FL sun and the unit actually overheats and shuts down. This includes the HD Neoprene Boom sleave. I have not tried an aqua box (they are really big) and I have a hard clear pelican case, but not soft lid.

That's what I meant about smartphone GPS earlier...Garmins revenues are running about 25% behind a year ago, and it's not because GPS is unpopular.

We have 3 Garmin devices now (Streetpilot C550, Garminfone, Zumo 450) and no problems out of them.
I got my Samsung Vibrant Android phone to use as an all in one device mainly for GPS and it blows more *** than Oprah after a chili eating contest. The GPS is the most inaccurate piece of crap. It sometimes shows me going 100 mph down the highway when it's really 65, shows us driving off bridges into the ocean and even gets stuck somewhere miles away from where we really are.
I'll stick with Garmin for my GPS needs.
