I am not a Harley owner yet, but am very eager. I am trying to find out information about '78 FLH 1200 Shovel Head. Can anyone tell me the value of this year bike. I realize it varies greatly by how it has been customized, but could anyone please give any info on this year harley. I have talked to several of my friends that own harley and I am getting mixed respones. The owner is asking about $9000. It has a custom paint job, The engine has been rebuilt about a year ago and S&S carb. The bike is very clean. Any info anbody could give me on this would be very much appreciated.

Kelly's Blue Book lists it retail for about $7800 - 7900. This is for a completely stock bike. Custom items will add to the price. Offer $8000 and let the negotiations begin.
