dragging heels
I was following another bike on a rural two lane twistie. The bike had foot pegs and the rider's heels were hanging way lower than the pegs. On almost every turn he was damn close to dragging his heels.
I have dragged floor boards so I know that sensation but I was wondering what happens if you drag a heel. I would think that your leg would wind up somewhere around your ears real fast which wouldn't be good for control.
Just curious if I am mistaken.

I haven't read any threads by anyone who now has one foot...
I know when im diggin hard in a corner ill put my heal into the corner to get a feel for my lean angle and yes sometimes it will pull your foot off the peg but you get used to it. Just relax and dont freak out. You know what they say if your not living on the edge your taking up too much room!

watch roadracing... I don't know any racers with missing knees.
and "back in the day" before hanging off and dragging a knee was discovered, racers rode "pigeon-toed" and dragged their toes.
look at the pic. toes and knee on the ground.

I have mid controls on my Streetbob. I put the front ball of my foot on the peg for body weight transfer in the twisties. I have touched a heel down a few times but there was no weight on it. It was just a feeler. I have also hit a bump with the peg while all my weight was on it. The peg folds up a bit, your leg bounces much like a shock absorber and you continue on. It really isn't as big of a deal as it may sound. Know the bike, the road along with their limitations and you will be fine. Sounds like this guy did.
