Default Shorty antenna

Anyone come up with a good shorty antenna to replace the whip?

I moved the whip in behind the fairing, works like original. Tried a couple shorties and boosters....none of them worked as well as the whip.

I bought a rubber cheapie from NAPA. It's fine for FM stations, but not good for AM reception

I bought an HD shorty. Reception in rural areas sucked so I reinstalled the whip.

I bought a shorty from a local electronics store. Works great in the city. The whip works better in the country, but I got tired of getting poked in the eye all the time so I got rid of it. I listen to XM, CD, or my mp3 on the highway. The whip will only buy you a few more miles of reception.

Pull one of the bolts on the antenna mount and route the whip over the shock mount and ziptie along the frame beside the side cover. Lose a little reception, but not much. Pictures were posted somewhere on the forum.
