so is there a way other than giving h-d more$$$ that i can cut this seems like bigger than my 1st fishin pole whip of a antenna,i heard that someone cut it and they couldn't get any channels?
YOU KNOW......... YOU CAN POOK AN EYE OUT WITH THAT THING!
You can replace it with a smaller one from Kragen's or Autozone for $10.00 or I stuck a Jack-in-The-Box ball on mine after poking myself in the eye. The height for an AM-FM doesn't matter like it does for a CB. You can also replace it with one that sits in the faring.
I know a bunch of guys have cut theres down. I don't remember reading about any trouble.
I went with a tune trapper antenna in the fairing and the reception is about 80% of what it use to be. But then again I live in an area far enough outside of Chicago that the raido station reception sucks regardless...
Cut mine down with a set of wire cutters, reception same as when it was 13 feet long.............. I tried the rubber antenna, for looks, terrible reception. You pay the shipping and you can have my rubber one for free, and I'm being serious.
I went with the Tune Trapper (internal fairing antenna) on my RG, and found it to have excellent reception in So Cal area. I used the model TT2C2 which went for $30. See: http://www.ecshylites.citymax.com/page/page/761353.htm.
Is that cover over your tail light an HD item? Seen them before but have been to lazy to research. Would like to pick one up, got some more parts to send off to the coater this week and would like to include that. Thanks.
