It is my right knee. I know it hasn't been long, but talking to my surgeon and a good personal friend who works on professional athletes in the NFL, NHL and MLB - he saw my x-rays and agreed. The issue is (which we have all been there), you can't put the left foot down at a stop due to gravel, slick road, etc... I can't do the left. A knee brace will not work.

Wait until your knee heals and see how it goes. I wouldn't take the doctors word for it.

The riders I've come across with knee, leg or back problems now ride Harley Trikes.

I rode suicide all my life and only put one foot down so find another excuse, you can do it if you really want. Not being a smart ***, just trying to encourage you.

Have you tried a Deluxe? Lighter and much lower to the ground. If I had to get rid of my RK I'd go to a Deluxe. It's the easiest to handle of the HD big twins.

Good call about the Deluxe. I did buy one and had it for a month. It sits so low to the ground, that I scrapped the floor boards all the time and not even taking turns hard. The ride is not that comfortable.

Well, you stand the bike up with the left leg, and just practice and get used to just putting down the left leg. That is all that ever hits the ground when I ride. Right is always on or near the brake.

And like everyone else has said... Give it some time. I would NOT put a helluva lot of stock in ANY doctors prediction...... They have no way of knowing how that knee will heal!

Both of my knees are bad, especially the right one, which needs to be replaced along with a torn ACL. I have had no problem keeping the bike up, but it starts hurting like hell about an hour into the ride. If I can keep the bike upright, I will keep on riding.
