In a twinkie it won't but NickD & I run older iron and the lifters like straight weight oil so maybe a misunderstanding in the reading . Air cooled motors and hydraulic lifters have been at odds with each other since they came out in one machine , technology will get it right sooner or later I hope .

Yepper them Twinkies sure are the bomb aren't they ?

Sorry to hear about your grief man all kidding aside , I'd push the service manager for a detailed report on what exactly went bad on your old one and as a mechanic I'd really like to see that if you can get one . Knowledge shared is good for everyone dealing with things like this .

Why not ask him what the up-charge on a 120 is? The labor should be the same.

Interested in knowing what the problem was. My thinking as a machinist would be a tolerance issue somewhere...Just a thought...Anyway, good luck with the new motor.

Be glad you have a good dealer. Some of the ones around here would have probably tried to deny your warranty because you weren't running HD oil. Seriously.

I've got an 05 with 60,000 on it now and have been lucky in that the only problems so far have been with **** that I've changed from stock (other than the phuked up cam chain tensionor thing). I bought this one with a carb and have no desire for FI. The new bikes have way too much chit to wrong that ya can't fix without a computer and at least an associates degree in electronics.

I'm workin hard and saving up to buy either an early Evo or a Shovel for a daily rider cause I miss having a bike with some personality. I don't want to get rid of my TC only because I've regretted getting rid of every bike I ever got rid of.

To the OP...Glad they are doin ya right and curious to hear what the problem turned out to be.
