Let's not forget there are still places to get a good deal that give good service - Lake Shore HD for one.

If Zanotti's don't make it try Liberty Harley Davidson.
Got a Buddy that buys stuff from them all the time.

That caps it for me people whining because a place that sells motorcycles and parts doesn't have Tee shirts , OH MY GOD WHATS THE WORLD COMING TOO ?????

LOL LOL LOL I thought I was the only one that read that and thought HOLY CRAP!! we are worried about a freakin t-shirt. But I guess maybe if they had sold more $5 t-shirts for $28 they may still be in business lol... Oh well guess the dude is gonna have to look elsewhere for his costume.....

I haven't felt this bad since AMF "rescued" us back when I was young and had a full head of hair. I've done business with Andy on and off since like 1972 and bought my last two bikes there; I will miss him, Bob, Karen and all the folks there for a real long time. If anything did him in it was a desire to be a motorcycle shop rather than a clothing store. Combined with a willingness to sometimes have "sales" and offer "discounts" the writing was almost on the wall. Mother Company doesn't like those words much and would rather heap their rewards on locations like Pittsburgh Mills (which doesn't sell parts or bikes) while closing locations like this.

Where to go now? No close options really. Gatto has bought up so much of Western PA, Z&M (despite their start) and New Castle don't thrill me much. Vreelands out Bloomsburg is great but 4 hours away. May have to spend some time this spring with the HOG atlas visiting and making notes.

This has been discussed in the Touring forum as well. See my post in the touring forum about a comparison of online discount sources for HD parts.

Gattos isn't in the Mills anymore...haven't been for a while.

I will say that at least Gattos helped me with my injector issue by updating my ECM for free...way more than Zanottis did even though I supported them by buying my bike there.

Welcome to the forum. I like your user ID. Is that you in the picture? <g>

I know several guys from the Burgh who buy their bikes from Battlefied HD in Gettysburg. They quoted me a new 2009 Ultra much less than any local dealer when I was shopping for a bike, but I ended up buying a used one with very low mileage.
I buy almost nothing locally (99% is online) and my local dealer only sees my bike for warranty/recall work. The rest, I do it myself or I have an indy do it if I don't have the tools/equipment to do it, like changing tires.

What part of the Burgh are you from? I'm in Blawnox/O'Hara, off 28N.
