cams
New member 1st Harley can't get enough of this site understanding half of what u guys talk about but learning thanx just had stage 1 on fatboy Lo 11 any reccomendations on cams appreciated looking for something in the middle lots of street and hwy riding
trust me it wont end there, lots of good cams out there look for a cam with an intake valve closing before 40 degrees 500 to 550 or even 570 lift will get you the best of both worlds,, remember the later the intake vavle closes the more the power band moves to the right of the rpm range.,, jmho,,
Read through the cam section in the screamin eagle catalog. I t explains prettywell the relationships between duration and where your power band will be.Long duration = high revving race bike short duration = stump pulling bagger. I went with the screaming eagle 103 stage 4 kit because it came fairly complete with heads pistons cylindars throtlebodies and supertuner

Hi there and welcome to the forum. Been through the whole cam change thing in the fall. After researching and asking a ton of questions, I went with the S&S 570 gear drive cams for my 07 train. I couldnt leave it alone after that, I had the heads ported & polished and added pipes and a SE air cleaner. Havent had it dyno'd yet but man! It woke the thing up big time.
This all started with a few questions. There are a ton of good cam suppliers out there. I went with S&S cause of the quality and reputation they have. I would also recommend Andrews cause I ran those too in another bike.
I found once I gravitated to a manufacturer the selection became much easier.
I'm now in the process of installing shotgun air ride shocks. That also came about after a few questions.
Good luck with your selection and keep us posted.
