Beautiful day today so I decided to put a few hundred miles on the RK. Stopped at Thunder Road HD and was informed that Davis HD is now Down Home HD and half the people have left. Stopped in Greensboro HD and bought my first HD T-shirt and the oddest thing was present on the shirt. On the very back where the tag is there was a line in black print that said, "Made in the USA" I about fell over! I didn't think HD made anything in the good ol' USA anymore. That put an even bigger grin on my face, not that it would have taken much. The sky's were blue the temp was 63 and the sun was shining. The only downside was I stopped by my favorite dealer "Davis" HD and they confirmed it was Down Home HD and was now owned by Caliente HD out of Texas. I guess another good dealer bites the dust, but a good day for a ride anyway.

 

Kind of scary isnt it? We get excited about tshirts and trinkets being made in the good ole USA while everything else is going to Mexico or China.

 

Got a HD shirt for Christmas from Savannah HD, tag says 'Made in America', kind of surprised me too.

Last HD T-Shirt I bought was actually at the dealer in Bejing and it was made in Nicaragua

My kids got me an HD tumbler for my Xmas Jack & Coke and that was made in the USA

 

its sad that we have to search high and low to find things made in the USA. what they should say is "assembled in USA using parts made from everywhere else"

I got a HD pilsner glass for Christmas that was made in the USA. Unfortunately, it had a label on the bottom warning that "The materials used on the exterior of this product contain lead...". I guess if I'm careful, and drink the beer from the INSIDE of the glass and do my best not to lick the OUTSIDE of the glass I should be ok.
