question on electraglide
I am looking into getting a 99 ultra with 61000 miles the bike comes with complete service records from day 1,asking price is 13000 and is in really good cond. Is this a good price and should I be concerned about the amount of miles,Test ride on sunday 12/10/06, What should I look for and be concerned in checking.
I think the price is a little high.
You need to be concerned with whether that bike has had the bad rear cam bearing replaced. All '99's and some early '00's have a roller rear cam bearing that came fly apart. The MoCo gave a 5 year/50 warranty on that part and would update it only if it failed.
In addition, with 61k on the clock. You need to be concerned with what condition the cam chain tensioners are in. If they have not been replaced, they are likely shot. If they need replaced, the bad rear cam bearing can also be updated at the same time. This job at a dealer will set you back around 500 bucks.

FWIW,
I paid $12,000 for my 99 Ultra which includes a complete rebuild from the crank up, 95 inch, SE pipes, corbin seats, and every chrome option you can think of with laced wheels. The newly rebuilt engine had less than 5,000 miles on it.
I live in AZ where the prices are high due to our year round riding weather and demand. So with that said, I think your deal is a little expensive considering the miles and options.
Good Luck, Mike
