Just curious, and would post this as a poll, but can't figure it out.

When you started riding (not now) did your friends already ride? Or, was it a decision you came to on your own? Were you coerced? Just wondering how each of you got into riding.

 

In my little group, I'm not the first, but one of the very few who ride. I've been applying the peer pressure on a number of my closer friends, but so far they're not biting. I think they're suffering from "wife won't let me".

Im the only one in my circle of friends that rides but everybody in my family rides pretty much im the latest one in the fam to get a bike

 

Father taught me at 5 yr.s old... Wasn't the first and won't be the last.

 

Other than an uncle who used to be a HD mechanic back in the early 70's, my older brother was the first in the family to ride--started on a 75 Yamaha combo, moved up to a 79 Yamaha 650 Special--bought that from him when I graduated HS in 84 and been riding since. Him, not so much since selling the 79 Yamaha.

Right now for family riders: Me, my uncle, two of his sons.

 

Started riding in 1977 @ 9yrs old. Everyone (excluding the OL's that ride) I ride with is older than me and have been riding longer than me.

 

Same here. It's the only way I can be left the f*** alone. I'm the only one of my friends/family that rides.
