Default Mods before 500 miles...

Cant stand the sound of my new glide anymore...ordered an aircleaner, thunderheader and racetuner..Couple people told me not to throw em on till after 500 miles Im at 200..That wont take long for me to get to but all that stuffs in my garage and its tough for me to not roll up on the lift and start tearing into her...Any problems with throwing it on early..

Dunno if there would be any issues with making modifications that early, but why not wait until after the first 1000 mile oil change just to be on the safe side? Just my $0.02 worth.

Nope, none....... heat is your enemy, especially at "break in"....... my RK had 6 miles on her when I changed the exhaust, air intake, fuel management, seat, bars, and suspension, etc....

You should have dumped your oil by now, too...... hell, the CVO's come with synthectic oil in them from the factory......

I say the sooner you help her, the better... Enjoy!

If you dyno the bike early you will find as the engine breaks in the dynamics change and you may have to do it twice. Don't ask me how I know this.

I will now wait until 3000 miles before any tuning.

That, I kind of agree with, but it wasn't his question.... he didn't mention making a dyno pull on the motor, just changing pipes and intake, assuming he was going to start with a canned map that matched his components.....I like to see 1500 miles or so on them before I subject them to the stress of the dyno....

Or should I just throw the pipes and air cleaner without the tuner?

I don't know why you should wait. Lots of people have the stage one done at the dealer before picking up their bike.
