i always told the bank/credit union i needed the money for a home improvment loan..and never once felt i was lying....lol

Not sure where the $14,000 came from. Lots of comments with lots of assumptions.

I could easily borrow the funds to get the bike i want. Simple decision for me - I won't.

Yeah, it will be a bit longer till I can pay cash. Oh well..
