Dedicated internal and external in three sizes. you can switch some snap rings to E clips to make install and removal quicker...
I order tools like that from Grangers.
I was an apprentice to a French master mechanic and tools were the most important thing.
Circlips, Ecrou,Vis, and Goupille were the next important after precision fits and tolerances.

I have the Craftsman pliers also. Have the interchangeable tips for different sizes. Work really well.

Snap Ring pliers were always the ones I tried to do without. When my wife got me a tool chest from Sears for Father's day, I got a gift card from her parents to Sears.
Sears Craftsman Snap Rings were on the short list. Interchangeable tips, and reversible. I don't use them often, but they kick *** when I need them to.

This is a tool it pays to buy a better quality one. The cheap ones might do for a bit but sooner or later you'll find the tips bend before the ring is compressed. Spend a few more bucks.
