Dedicated internal and external in three sizes. you can switch some snap rings to E clips to make install and removal quicker...
I order tools like that from Grangers.
I was an apprentice to a French master mechanic and tools were the most important thing.
Circlips, Ecrou,Vis, and Goupille were the next important after precision fits and tolerances.

I have the Craftsman pliers also. Have the interchangeable tips for different sizes. Work really well.

Sears Craftsman Snap Rings were on the short list. Interchangeable tips, and reversible. I don't use them often, but they kick *** when I need them to.
+1 on the Sears reversible.

This is a tool it pays to buy a better quality one. The cheap ones might do for a bit but sooner or later you'll find the tips bend before the ring is compressed. Spend a few more bucks.

Another pair of Craftsman Reversible one here. Work great. Came with 4 different size tips. The correct size tip makes all the difference in the world.
