IMO HD is in for a tough ride. The used market is saturated. Low mile bikes for thousands less than new and The Cool old bikes for less than 1/2 price of new.

Not much dif between a 2009 and a 2013 or a 2001 to the novice It is a motorcycle, a Toy or Transportation. Need vs Want. No one Needs a motorcycle.

Most of us old guys will never buy a new Sportster and the young ones cant afford a $10,000 toy. A new Kia sells for less than a Fatboy, baby seat included.

The new generation will predicate HDs survival. It does not look good to me. My son was raised on bikes, when he was young it was all about having a Harley. He is 36 now and he could not care less about a new HD. He wants an Evo FXR, that is what turns him on.

He can afford the FXR, he can work on it and have the same fun as riding a new Sportster for 1/2 the price. I am saying as long as the market is saturated with nice used bikes, HD will have a harder and harder time selling New.

Most of the new generation have been exposed to imports, GSXR, Ninja's Busa's, and the like. When they get on a Harley they say " what is the big deal".

I am afraid HD, unless they make a radical change to product and marketing will go the way of Ural. JMO.

So they're advertising to the people who I already battle with the most to keep my lane? What's next, a mirror in the middle of the handlebars with a 'makeup' pouch on the tank?

Nothing wrong with the ad. What's the issue? More people should ride. More bikes, more awareness, etc...

We can't all be hard as nails.

Did I mention that I love soccer moms! No? Well there it is...

Ride hArD!

Jeez, who cares. Ride your bike and let them make the ads they want. Maybe all of the Madison Ave guys here that know better should send their portfolios to the MOCO?
