Default Batteries

What is the longest life you have gotten out of a battery?

I had to replace the original after 4 years. The replacement lasted 4 years and now going on 4 years on the 3rd one. It is still going strong so maybe I will get more than 4 years out of the last one. I have never used a tender on any battery because I ride year around and the longest it will sit un-attended is 4-5 days.

I had 12 years out of one once but they usually last 1-3 years.

Seven years from the original in my Fatboy. Stored in an unheated garage and hooked up to a battery tender. It was still working well when I replaced it but, I did change it as I didn't want to get stranded somewhere.

Just changed out the battery on my 06 SG. Picked the bike up in Dec of 05. Still held a good charge but didn't want to take an chances since I work nights and it's a long walk home.

There is no Normal when it comes to battery life.
Does your bike spend half the year (winter) parked and on a tender? The rest of the year do you ride a couple of times a month on the weekends? That may get you 10+ years form the battery.

Live in a hot climate? Ride pretty much every day with multiple engine restarts running around town? Don't be surprised if you need to replace the battery in 18 months or even less.

9 years on a Interstate megatron battery and it was still going good but figured 9 years I got my money worth out of it. And oh ya put another Interstate megatron. Bike 2011 RKC 1year 4 months still going strong. Hooked it up to a tender for winter but spring is early so it riding time. If Interstate makes a battery for my RKC that's whats going into my bike.

07 Ultra 6 YRS. no tender, EVER. I was amazed....This bike for some reason needs a tender bump once a month or so.
