2011 Fatboy Lo 2500 mile service question
I spoke with the mechanic that does my service and he's not going to be able to get to the bike for another week. The maintenance schedule shows that this doesn't have to be done by an authorized dealer. Does anyone know what the 2500 mile service entails, and is it something that a novice can do?

Hmmmm, my StreetGlide's Service Interval started at 1K miles and then again at 5K miles and then 10; 15; 20; 25; etc. Should be clearly stated in your Owner's Manual and you really really should get yourself a Service Manual and do this stuff yourself.

If bought new you certainly should have, if bought used, get it from previous owner. Failing that you should just get the Service Manual. Can get a electronic version for about $10 if you know what bay to fish.

Yeah, I bought it brand new, and the more things I find myself asking questions about now, the more and more I know I'm not going to that dealer again for my next bike.
I'll search around for an owners manual, and service manual. Although, I'll be taking my bike for some warranty work soon; the turn signal indicator stopped working yesterday.
Thanks for the replies as always.

Dealer wouldn't have remembered to give me the owners manual to my bike if I hadn't asked for it before I left. When I did ask, he was like "Oh Yeah!"
I don't know how the soft tail schedule would differ from a touring but mine has the 1K then the 5K. So I guess the 2500 recommendation would be to keep riding until I hit 5K.

There is no 2500 mile service. If you want to do anything, just change your engine oil which will take you an hour.
When you go in for warranty work tell them you want the owners manual and go to parts and order the service manual. There is very little info in the owners manual but you did pay for it so make them give it to you. There are videos on how to change your oil that makes it very easy. Just keep all your reciepts and start a log book.
