My mother was so much of a penny pincher
that rentel cars was all she ever bought,
and she had very good luck with them all,
and I do mean several. So yes if the price
is even close to right, I'd jump on one in a
half of a hart beat.

I agree with baca1969:
The question should read "Should I Marry a *****/**** Queen?" The answer is obvious unless your a masochist into pain and heart break

My Road Glide was a rental bike. I bought it from the dealer that I had bought bikes from and did all our major services. Had a few things on her and got them to throw in a total of $3,000 in extras.
Had them print out all service records and do a full diagnostic. I personally went over it with a fine tooth comb. Got to test ride it for about 100 miles. You could never do that with a garage queen. The price was right where I wanted it. Came with 3 years of warranty.
You can buy any used bike and it could be just as abused as a rental but without the service.
I have not had one bit of trouble with it and have put 17k miles on it without any trouble. Including trips to Sturgis and a Denver to Las Vegas to Tulsa and back.

I have to pull out a Jeff Foxworthy joke. (Tweaked for motorcycles)
Buying a used motorcycle is like going to a house of ill repute looking for a wife. You dont want something that has been driven that hard and that long.
I would agree that the baggers would be better taken care of than non baggers but still.

I would.
You can tell if they're beat.
No worse than buying a cop bike.
The price would have to be right. used bikes
are so cheap right now.
As far as the hooker . . . Maybe mama-san at the
massage parlor . . .
Luv youuu longg tiime
Eeeh maybe not.

Probably less risk than with a used trade-in from the Dealer since its (the rental) supposedly been maintained by the Dealer. It would still be my last choice of either new, or gently used Garage Queen from individual, or rental. The difference in price of a new one versus what a Dealer typically is asking for a one year old rental is usually not all that great.....but every deal is different.
