Default One awfull ride

So I took the new Heritage into the dealers and got the first servicing done, bought some rear floorboards. Since Im halfway to work, and Im on nightshift,I took a ride out to Peggys Cove, and around the Asbotagen peninsula. It was cold, but the ocean smell and twisty road was delightful. Worked all night, noticed about 3am it was raining,oh well,Ive been wet before. When I got off work at 7:30 am it was pouring, like a cow pissing on a flat rock. What was worse, was the fog,and high wind. On the way home traffic was terrible, couldnt see ****,so I stopped to get my goggles out of the saddelbag, which fogged up so quick they were useless. Im making my way along when the nut in front of me suddenly slammed on their brakes,so hard I locked my rear wheel momentarily, which sent me into a "S" skid. No damage done, but that woke me up big time. Ive got the Screaming Eagle open air filter and lost the sock(which dealer wants 37 dollars for),soon the engine was inhaling so much water I had to downshift to make a hill. After an hour and a half of this "fun" I pulled into my driveway, cold, wet, and greatly relieved. Sometimes the best part of a ride is getting off.

Rode hard, put away wet?
K&N sells that sock online for $20.

I thought I was the only nut that puts himself in those situations!

One or two of those a year is worth all the great rides I have the rest of the time.

Definitely a dicey ride & glad you made the trek home. Toss back a couple, dry-off & take a fair weather trip to balance out this one.

Tough ride. I read posts all day long with guys swearing they ride in all kinds of rain storms with those open filters and no problems, lol.

Good to see you're home and, by now, warm and dry again.
I'm sure this was a trip you will not forget soon.

Glad you and the bike made it home safe. I have had more of my share of 'glad to be off the bike' rides myself. It always makes me smile to hear some guys say stuff like 'even the worst ride was still great' and stupid crap like that.
