I imagine the block of wood is to raise the bike high enough for the lift to slip under it. I have the same lift, depending on the ride height of his bike, it might be a tight squeeze...

wouldn't our bikes be faster if lemon pledge came in a black can? hope you used the black oil filter--adds nearly 20 horsepower and about 5 mpg.
