Default Motorcycle Ear Plugs

I jusr recently bought a pair of these plugs off ebay http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=160798035881

and I have to say its made long riding a lot more enjoyable.
I really have to say they are an amazing piece of kit. Its something I had been worried about after reading may articles about the damage the wind noise does to your hearing.

Just thought I would share my thoughts on same as I am delighted with them

Years ago I was going for a ride with my neighbor; me on my Sportster, Chrome Werks 2-2 pipes and a shorty helmet, no windshield...him on a BMW 800 with a modular helmet...at our destination he not only removed his helemet, but also ear plugs...I felt like I was squandering my sense of hearing if he was going to that length on an already quiet bike...I now use skull screws under a 3/4 or modular; what a difference...and I may be able to hear futher into my old age, too!

I use them on long rides now much better! Its not the pipes its the wind sound that kills my ears. 2 hours of 70 mpr wind noise is like a rock concert

get yourself a pair of alpines - you would now know the difference my friend tbh.

I still hear my big radius , al the traffic but the dangerous wind noise is reduced to a level that it wil not damage my ears at al - the best 25 euros I have ever spent on my bike

http://www.earplugstore.com/almonasomoea.html

a site in the states that sells the same plug.
I ordered 2 pair from them last night and have an email this morning telling me they will ship today.

I already have hearing loss from too much noise in my life to date. Industrial noise, concerts, etc. If your hearing is still intact, protect what you have. Plus, plugs just make for a more pleasant ride.

I got some custom made ear plugs. I have seen different vendors provide these at rallies and bike shows. Mine cost $29 and made specifically to fit my ears. They a big difference on long rides and being made for me they are comfortable as well.

They are superb - no need to buy 2 sets as they are 100% washable and sat for ages - the lot I bought from had them with me within 72 hours - great service ( and irish as I am )

I just use disposable foam plugs I buy in 100 count boxes, but I would eventually like to get a custom-molded pair.
But I definitely recommend all riders wear some sort of hearing protection. As others have said, it's really the wind noise that gets you. And even though I've been wearing earplugs and a full face helmet for 15 years, I've never felt like they blocked out so much sound that I couldn't hear something I needed to. I think of them more as "filters" than "plugs."
