Default Headlight modulator. Who runs one? Deciding to go with HID or modulation.

I saw a guy with a modulator and I have to say they really stand out. It's almost like the eye picks it up quicker. Who runs a modulator? What's the best one? Any cons? Can it be run with HID or led as well as stock?

Looking at this unit

Would like one that runs the regular head light and strobes the high beam if this is possible. After reading studies and watching clips on youtube I am convinced that they are worth it.

Better to be looked at than to run in "stealth mode" and end up a speed bump. How many car/bike accidents involve a driver who says something like "I just didn't see them."

If I'm taking my daughter for a quick ride, I'd drag trashcan lids and streamers if it would keep a car from hitting us. I also make her wear a helmet, which is something I may or may not do when it's just me alone. Obviously, I don't want her hurt & will take extra precautions to make sure the ride is as safe as possible.

The Kriss unit is straightforward, easy to install and remove (no wire cutting, just plug & go), and can be turned on & off with your highbeam switch. That's the one I have.

Is it worth the money? It depends on if you think it will help you avoid a collision and what the value of that is.

I like it. There are times when you see someone who you just KNOW is distracted or not really recognizing that you're there, and it's easy to flick on the switch and catch their attention. I leave mine off 90% of the time, but there are times when I turn it on just because the cagers are acting like blind idiots. Maybe it's helped me... I just don't know. But I see it as slightly increasing my odds, and that's worth it to me.

That's exactly right!! LOOK AT ME, AND YOUR GONNA SEE ME. I'll make sure of that. Been running them on both my bikes for years and I know it's saved my **** on many occasions. Haters just gonna hate. If you want one, get it.

There was a great thread here on modulators about 2-3 weeks ago that convinced me to buy one. I haven't had time to put it on yet. It was actually all the guys complaining how annoying they are that convinced me how well they really do work for visibility.

Meh, I just manually flash high/low one time when I see a cage waiting to turn out or turn left in front of me. But, you have to watch for these idiots and that's one thing we can NEVER become complacent on. Relying on some gadget to offload some of your situational awareness is not a good trade in my book. And those things annoy the hell out of me.
