Better mileage on Exxon gas?

Better mileage on Exxon gas?
I usually fill up at what every gas station is handy, & last week I was running
pretty low, so I filled up at an Exxon station in Middleburg, VA on my usual
ride. Today I noticed my I had more blue lights left at 150 miles than usual.
This 150 miles consisted of 3 trips of my typical ride. I filled up today & my
mileage came out to 45.5 instead of my usual 41. The only variable was
the Exxon gas. I have noticed I get better gas mileage on my car whenever
I use Exxon also. I was always under the assumption gas was gas. Could
Exxon have more BTU per gallon or something? Has anyone else noticed
they get better mileage on a certain gas, in particular Exxon?

There should be no difference with Exxon unless.... you are putting in 100% gas at the Exxon and you are typically puttting in ethanol bleand (10%)... The Ethanol effectively "waters down" the gas and you will get around 10% poorer milage... so that may be what has happened..
Whenever we travel, we cant wait to buy real gas as my milage goes up at least 10% on my 2008 FLTR
Just my opinion

Could be other factors. Say the last time you filled your tank you stopped when the auto shutoff stopped on the nozzle. Then this time it didn't shut off at the same 'level' so you got another few oz of gas in your tank.
Or your highway/city riding was different, more highway miles, etc.
Or you rode 2 up on the last tank and alone on the Exxon tank.
Way too many variables to say it's just the gas.

As I said, it was the exact same 3 rides, I always do, just me, & I keep
adding gas a little at a time until it is almost totally topped off. Only variable
was the gas..

Many factors can have an effect on your gas use. Things such as your driving habits, ie., quick acceleration and heavy braking, excessive idling, driving at higher speeds, temperatures, and probably a heck of a lot more.
I can't say for certain that Exxon gas isn't providing better MPG but I've never heard of it happening before. If it was me I'd sure keep on filling up there though.

All gas in a localized area usually comes from the same distribution point (refinery) and different companies (Exxon, Shell, Chevron etc...) add their own additives to it. Technically speaking all gas isn't the same. I personally wont buy gas from Exxon (not because of their product).

I don't know about Exxon, but I do know I get slightly better mileage in my truck from BP gas. This has been consistent for the past several months. I use an Android app to track mileage for work since I have to log every fill and mile for work.
It is usually about .75 to 1 MPG better than any other brand.

Years ago I had a 83 Goldwing and buddy had same bike. We would always ride side by side. We could get 50 mpg. We were using throttle locks. When we would fill up I was always $ .05 less than him if we filled up at the same time at the start of the ride and every tank on the ride. There was no ethanol back then. We got the best mileage with Ammaco, Then Shell, Exxon, Phillips 66 were about the same. But when we would put Texaco the mileage would drop to about 45 mpg. I could feel that I didn't have the power as with other brands and it would run rough and our gas price was way off from each bike when using Tex and would try to avoid it. His bike also would run bad on this.
