Default Does anyone work at a HD dealer?

I recently forund myself separated from a job that I loved and after the new year will be looking for another job. I was on my local dealer's website and they are looking for parts counter help. I always thought it would be cool to work at a HD dealer.
Pro's..Working around a bunch of cool bikes
Cons.. Dealing with Ahole customers who know everything because they have already done their research online

Anyone elses POV?

BUT if you can't deal with those customers in the respectful way, you should look elsewhere for employment.

I've been working in parts since I was about 17. I'm 21 now. I really do like it. Its very laid back. I actually prefer the customers who do their research online! They're usually more educated about everything and much more fun to talk to.

Edit: If you have specific questions I'd be happy to answer them.

i have a buddy who works for the local hd dealer he says is most older customers don't respect him as he is only in his 30s.

and to be honest this guy knows his stuff!!!

i have been in the auto parts end for 40 yrs and between the do it youselfers
and the techs it has become a very trying profession.

the internet has made every one a EXPERT !!!!!!!

Actually, thats what I was thinking, I went to my HD dealer last week and the guy joked saying "I love it when you come in, you already have all your PN's so there is some benefit to that

I don't work at a dealership, but an obvious disadvantage would be working weekend days. Could cut into riding time.

I kind of like to keep business and pleasure separate.

I pay 10% above dealer cost on pretty much everything. The other nice thing is dealing with the aftermarket manufactures for long enough, and often enough, that they start doing us small favors. One in particular for example is currently giving dealership employees 20% off of dealer cost on exhaust systems. My other parts guy just got a certain $850 exhaust for like $450.

Someone else said above that they dont like to mix business and pleasure. I kind of agree. I'm at the shop talking to people about bikes all day (saturdays too), so when it comes time to go for a ride and people come up and ask me about mine, its pretty much the last thing I want to talk about lol... oh well.
