If you use synthetic turn signal oil there shouldn't be a heat issue.

Thanks for all of the replies. I checked the seating of the bulb and it was fine. The dealer suggested my run/stop module might be bad and keeping the brake light on all of the time. I didn't think that was the case, but I did notice that it only got slightly brighter when I pressed the brake, so maybe that was the issue. I decided to disconnect the module and go without the run/stop lighting and see what happens. If figure the Bright *** tail light and the run/stop lights on the Tour Pak should be good enough.

I removed my turn signal bar (just not a fan of the way it looks and the bulbs kept failing) and installed the turn/run/stop module for the tourpack. People commented that compared to my BAL, the turn/brake lights were barely visible. I upgraded those to the Custom Dynamics (as well as the previously mentioned turn signal inserts up front). Now it's a more balanced, and VERY BRIGHT system. The people I ride with complain about it all the time. Perfect.

That's what I was thinking.

I'm running LED r/s/t lights in mine and they're constantly on. I've never touched them, to see if they were hot/warm but I always thought LEDs never got hot. Surely not hot enough to melt a lens.

Happen to me too after installing the HD run/turn/brake module it was running the light to hot and melted the lens on both side. Since I have removed the module and replaced the lens and will be looking at LED soon instead !

No, but my taillight lense on my low rider melted a hole in it from the bulb. I put in a LED and bought a new lense, its been alright since.
