Turn Signal Lens Melted
Anybody every seen a turn signal lens melt? I have the billet style turn signal on my RGU with a smoked lens. Running the run/stop configuration so it's always on but I didn't think that could happen. Did I get bum lens or could something else be wrong. Figured I'd ask before going to pick up another set of lenses at $40.00 a pair.

first, you can get the (bullet)? style lenses for much cheaper than $40 pair. i get them from my local shop for $5 each. lovebugs do a number on the plastic.
usually when i see a melted turn signal lens, its because of an electrical problem, too much voltage is going to the bulb for a long period of time. are your brake lights stuck on?
if that was not a typo in your op, and you really meant billet style lens, you can disregard my post as i have no idea what you're talking about.....

I have seen this quite a few times on various vehicles.
Bad connection produces arcing. Arcing = extreme heat = melting stuff.
Clean the connections, check the wiring in the housing and reinstall the bulb with dielectric grease.

Talk to MOCO....They'll water cool it for you!
Seriously, check the connections like everyone suggest. A bad connection will produce heat and sounds like this is what is going on.

As mentioned above...
I would (and did) ditch the incandescent bulb and get some nice Custom Dynamics plug and play led clusters. Massive improvement. Not cheap because you need the load equalizer, but it's a night and day difference.

Several yrs back we would have asked U if U've changed U turn signal oil lately..
Not many members these days have been around long enough to remember that one..
Really, I've don't ever member reading anyone having this issue..
Unless U've change out U bulb for some newer HOTTER LED bulbs..
If not Someone needs to check her out.
