Default Removing Cat

Does removing the cat change the sound at all, or just increase performance and reduce heat.

I wanted to change my slip ons to something a little louder but not obnoxious. I currently have Screaming Eagle Street Cannons on my 2010 Ultra Classic Limited.

Will removing the cat make the sound any better? If so, that will be a nice cost savings. This may be a stupid question, but is this done by just changing the head pipes?

The street cannons sound ok when you really hit the throttle, but I would like something a little louder.

lots of topics on this subject, many opinions. Regarding one thing that is constant, is this will reduce some of the heat. Everything else is arguable. TBS, I did it to my '11 Dyna and was pleased.

Go over to the Touring section and do a search. Lots of good info.

My understanding is:

- Some additional volume
- Decreased heat
- No real performance gain

I interpreted the title of this thread to mean something completely different. I assumed you hit a cat and got it wedged or burned onto some part of your bike.

Yet, I still clicked on the thread... What's that say about me?

Was just on s&s site looking at their headers they claim up to 8 horsepower gain over stock headers, any truth to that claim.

Any claim that says "up to" is meaningless.

Sorry should have read it better it's not up to they say it is 8 horsepower gain, I know they can say whatever they like and it would be up to me to prove them wrong. I'm also looking to Change my stock headers so I can get rid of that roaster down there.
