First Ride on My New Heritage
#42
Congrats on your new bike.
I owned a '92, a '95 Heritage and I currently have my '98 Heritage Springer and they've all been great bikes.
My wife had a black '99 Heritage that she wouldn't give up for a new '03 RK
She finally went to a red '08 Heritage and she loves it as much as her '99.
I put the Saggy Bags on both bikes and when we sold the '99 last year the bags looked much nicer than many bikes years newer.
I treat the bags regularly with Armoral Leather (gel) and once a season I give them a good coat of Doc Bailey's shoe polish (nasty but once it dries you can wipe it off) and it keeps the leather with a dark finish.
I'd also recommend installing the Chrome Fork Wind Deflectors, they really deflect the wind away from your face.
(When riding your bike, cross your left arm across your chest and notice the difference in wind movement. THIs is about the same as you'll get with the wind deflectors).
We also bought a pair of the soft lowers and they also work well.

+1 on the Papa Bags system, Easy install and sturdy. They also let the bags get some character "wrinkles" There is a post on this forum that show how put locks through the center goncho and frame of the Papa Bags that look good and easy to use.
