Default Harbor freight wheel chock problems

So today I got a lift table and the better locking wheel chock. I mounted it all up, and the damn wheel chock does not hold my 2008 dyna in any of the three positions. As soon as I let pressure off the bars it wants to fall left quickly. Any ideas on why the chock doesn't work for me? So many here have had success with it. I'm thinking of taking it back and what should I get, a tire vise?

I'v had Dyna's, Stoftails and Touring in mine with no issue.

The shorter end of the channel that the wheel goes into should face to the rear.
When the bike is in the bottom front part of the channel should not touch the base of the chock. That is what levers the bike forward to hold it up in the chock.

I use mine to service the bikes on the floor so I have it mounted on a 8' by 2' piece of plywood. I then strap the bike to a 4' bar across the entry of the chock.

HF makes two types of chocks. One set up to free stand on the floor and the one to mount in a trailer floor or like I have it set up.

Both work the same way. They must be mounted high enough that when the front tire reaches the end of the chock it presses into it and the wheel channel is not resting on the bottom but elevated about parallel to the base.

With either one it is always best to still tie down. they are supposed to be just free standing enough to give you time to tie down. I would never leave one unattended not tied down.

I would never leave it not tied down. Right now I don't even have the ability to tie it down without two people. Not ideal, will never work for me. I've tried all three positions and no joy.

Here it is. It's on the top holes as that's the last ones I tried.

The HF chock I have looks nothing like that. Mine is the one in the attached pic.
Mine is solid and I feel confident enough in it that I don't strap the bike down & never had an issue with it.

I have the same chock on mine and have zero problems with my Ultra or FXR in the very bottom holes. I do make sure it is perfectly vertical before turning loose to put the straps on, I never walk away without them.

I have two of the HF chocks like Sharkman73 has...never had a problem with getting off the bike to strap up...holds it up just fine. If you look back in the threads you will find that particular chock is the one that people are talking about switching to.

Its much like a condor pit stop chock that everyone likes to spend big bucks on so they can brag to their buddies at the water cooler about how they used their expensive wheel chock this weekend....

looks just like the chock I bought from HF and the lift I got from them also. I have never had a problem -- it sits the EG up perfectly -- while I am getting it strapped down. Roll it in -- when done just a little tug up and back and it rolls back out. My wife's bike lean when its in there since her front wheel/tire is a lot narrower (Yamaha Virago 1100).
