Default Considering modular helmet

i never ride without a helmet. Now I'm considering getting a modular helmet, one of those full face shields but also can flip up from the chin. Looking for comments from those who have them and feedback. I'm looking at the HD and Nolan helmet. Thanks.

I stopped using all my other helmets years ago when I got mine. I live South Florida and wear it year round.

That's the best recommendation I can give.

I had a Bell Revolver, but the outer shield wouldn't stay hinged open in the Nebraska wind so I sold it and bought a GMax 54S. Really like it so far, great fit, everything works like it should and I found it on sale for $150...

I bought a Nolan N104, it's a great helmet. The visibility is incredible, better visibility than any other helmet I've ever owned.

Revzilla has some great reviews and comparison between some of the top modular. I have the Shoei Neotec and love it. Kinda pricey but it works. There is the Shark (I think) that flips the chin bar all the way back and you can ride like you have a 3/4 helmet. All the others have to be closed.

Plus one on the shark, I'm on my second and just love them.

Also using a GMax (I forget the model number...44 comes to mind). It's a great helmet, well vented. Minimal fogging issues in the cold (have ridden down to 35 degrees F) and what little there was was resolved by cracking the visor. I really like the flashing LED in the back of the helmet for nighttime visibility, and the built in flip-down sun visor. I bought it sight unseen from RevZilla - my only issue - not quite shaped right for my head. I couldn't find a local place to test-fit GMax so I took the chance. I'm gonna give it another season and see how I tolerate it. Will be replaced with a Speed and Strength (as they fit my head perfectly) if I give up on it.

Edit: Mine is one step down from the 54S posted above - looks like the 54 has better anti-fog properties. I did forget to mention the chin curtain is a cheap POS on this helmet - one of the pins broke off the first time I removed it. I don't like using it anyway, so not an issue for me, but might be a consideration for you.

The HD helmets are rebranded HJC helmets. Same thing, they just cost more. The Nolan is a much better helmet. I have herd good things about the Shoei helmets. I got the Schuberth modular helmet for Christmas. I have only got to use it once. I was very impressed.

I've got a FXRG modular that I'm pretty happy with.
