Cool Modular HD Helmet Dilemma

Hello all!

To make a long story short, I really want a modular helmet and need to get one from the HD dealer / HD.com. I am looking at the Passage Modular Helmet with Shield and Modular Helmet with Shield on the website and don't see too much of a difference other than poly vs fibreglass. Is that what's causing the $145 difference and if so is it worth the premium?

I've never considered a Harley mod helmet but I am sure either will do. I have a Lazer because I don't have to wear sunglasses or those visors that come down but don't really cover your eyes because the visor transitions from clear to dark in sunlight and from dark to clear at night. Very convenient on long trips. I also have a bell revolver Evo.

Default Nolan Trilogy

Hey you should at least check out this Nolan Trilogy with the removable chin guard. It is a great buy and has a built in sunshade. I bought one last year and love it.

I don't see any good reason to spend $145 more for the fiberglass one which is actually 2oz heavier than the poly. Not sure what your intentions are but I would caution you against buying a helmet online unless you've first tried on an identical model in a brick and mortar store.

I own the FXRG modular and am pleased with it, but didn't pay dealer retail for it either. Maybe check out surdyke.com if you must get it from a HD dealer.

The HD helmets are all rebadged HJC helmets. For the $ get a Nolan or Shoei

Do you have a store credit or something?

No reason to buy H-D brand name when there are so many superior helmets out there in the free market..i.e.. revzilla, ebay, craigslist..

Just asking...
