Default Axle alignment ?

2012 Deluxe. I am going to check my rear axle alignment and would like to know if anyone has bought and used the rubber plugs for the axle ? Should I buy them ?
Any better way to check alignment ?
Thanx.

dont know bout the plugs, but when align the back end.. i eye the belt and make it straight, then i check the amount of flex in the belt (no more then 1/2 inch) then i check that the axel is about in the same position thru the swingarm and if it is, then i spin the tire to make sure the drive belt doesnt move on the pulley and if thats good then i tighten the axel bolt

thats what i do, never had a problem

Default Axle Alignment

My bike (an 06) has holes in the swing arm to measure from. You can use a measuring tape or cut and bend a coat hanger and use a tiny o-ring to mark the axle alignment. No need for big bucks toy tools.

I wish they still did that.It works great and is easy. I also wish they used a cam like the touring bike have for many years.

I have a 13 street glide and I just pulled the rear wheel off my bike and all I did was put the spacers in. Yall must have a different setup.

Some people with softies simply measure the threads on the axel adjuster bolt.
