Default bagger or soft tail

hi, I have been wanting a Harley every since i was a little kid. finally have the money to get one. I want to get the breakout but my dad tries to talk me into getting the street glide every chance he gets (because he has one). I must admit the bags and radio seem like a nice luxury, but the breakout looks so bad a**. Which one would be a better first bike? All your opinions will be appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Usually a preference unless there is an ability issue

Neither if this is your very first motorcycle but if you have a good amount of riding experience I suggest the street glide.

My second bike was a showroom new 91 FXSTC. I loved that thing but sold it prior to a deployment in 1998. I always loved the low sleek look of the Softail and wanted another one. I bought a used 2007 Street Glide and took a shine to the comfort etc that the Bagger offered but still couldn't get that Softail out of my head. Two years later I found a sweet 02 FXST and pulled the trigger on it. Now I have the best of both worlds and don't regret it one bit.

If I were young again and was looking for a bike I'd go with the Softail for a few years then jump on a modded out used Bagger a few years from now.

I would suggest the Breakout myself...but I could be biased.
