Dyna Wide Glide First Bike?

I'm biased, but I love my Wide Glide! I will say that the one thing you SHOULD NOT do it get a bike as a "starter" or anything that you don't love. The '05 WG was my first Harley (and bike), and sure it's a little higher learning curve with the additional weight at the front with low-speed turns, but you take it slow and then ride and love the hell out of it. Get what YOU want, and unless you're loaded, get that you'll want 5+ years down the line.
I've had a lot of fun learning and customizing (no custom metal fab yet, we'll get there haha) and making it mine. You'll love it.
A few samples of some great rides. Just make sure to get back on here and brag (with pics!) the second you decide on your new baby!
To each their own, but this is my own!

2007 Wide Glide was my first motorcycle. Brand new. I had taken the MSF safety course and was set on a Wide Glide because that was what my dad had when I was growing up. I think that it makes an excellent first bike as long as you ease into it and know your limits.
I was going to buy a Nightster because they were cheaper, but someone talked some sense into me and in hindsight, I would have wished I had gone with a Dyna (I am 6-1).
If you are in love with the bike and you are confident in your ability, go and get that Wide Glide. It will last you a long time. Well, at least until you get older, your back starts to hurt, and you are tired of carrying everything in a backpack. Then you will be eyeing a touring bike.
